This 3-dimensional human eye model was designed with input from scientists for studying the structure and function of the eye. It is enlarged 3 times life size, custom molded from nontoxic polymers and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) for durability, and hand-painted by skilled artists. Important structures are numbered on the model and identified on the included colour key card, which identifies 18 structures.
The upper half of the sclera with cornea and eye muscle attachments, both halves of the choroids with iris and retina, the lens and the vitreous humor are all removable.
